Shannon Hope joins Tango Jazz Quartet from Argentina for a private performance at the Argentinian Ambassador’s residence in Pretoria this month. Straight from the legendary streets of Buenos Aires, the Tango Jazz Quartet will be performing their unique style of musical fusion in Johannesburg and Cape Town in late August, and it is with great pleasure that Miss Hope joins them for this special collaboration.

The band takes its inspiration from the heady times of the 1940’s and 50’s where, during the course of a night, tango and jazz bands used to share the same stage and audiences could appreciate both genres. Having evolved over years of research and experimentation, Tango Jazz Quartet have mastered an exquisitely sensitive blend of smooth, sometimes cheeky melodies and rhythms of tango, mixed with the harmony and improvisation of jazz.

Tour details as follows:
Friday 23 August – Conga Stage, Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival, Johannesburg
Monday 26 August – Kefu’s Jazz Club, Khayelitsha, Cape Town
Tuesday 27 August – The Crypt Jazz Restaurant, Cape Town
Wednesday 28 August– The Mahogany Room, Cape Town
