COME TOGETHER, A COLLABORATION

LATEST NEWS

Award-winning pianist and vocal artist Shannon Hope joins forces with Dividable Grand for “Come Together” – a show featuring a collaborative approach to their respective original songs and some songs they wish they wrote. Imagine the vocal power of Adele backed by the pop sensibilities of The Beatles – throw in a cello, some percussion and appearances by a couple of well-known guest artists, and “Come Together” will be a performance to remember.

Shannon Hope is described as “a thrilling, enthralling, endearing and awe-inspiring performer”, and with two full studio albums, radio play on various stations across the country, and a reputation as one of the hardest-touring artists in South Africa, she has graced esteemed stages such as the Fugard Theatre in Cape Town and The Metro Theatre in Chicago, and almost every major festival on the national circuit. In 2011 she was awarded a Standard Bank Ovation Award by the National Arts Festival in recognition of “artistic innovation, excellence, the exploitation of new performance styles and the courage to open new conversations in the arts.” And opening new conversations is exactly what Shannon Hope has in mind for 2013.

Come Together also features the musical talents of Dividable Grand. Their debut album “The Buzz” was released in October 2012 and has received extensive airplay on stations like KFM, RSG and numerous campus stations in South Africa. Genevieve Vieira of The Citizen had this to say about the band: “For a band made up solely of 18-year-olds, The Buzz is what many would consider well above average as far as debut albums are concerned. The album is altogether enjoyable and distinguished, with an impressive sense of creativity oozing through the music. Excitement builds knowing that any future offerings hold great potential.”

Come Together is in essence a concept show where two genres collide. The nationwide tour includes confirmed appearances in Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Jeffrey’s Bay, Port Elizabeth and East London.
